Characters Name: Serra
Age: ~17
Canon: Fire Emblem (Blazing Sword)
Canon Point: Chapter 16x, after reuniting with Lyn and before going to Dread Isle for the first time
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
History: Fire Emblem Wiki and Support Conversations (scroll down to read Serra's)
Appearance: I knew it! My beauty should be a crime!
Personality: To sum up her personality simply: She is incredibly chatty, egotistical, over dramatic, and very high maintenance.
Getting into detail however, you can see that there is more to her. Serra is stubborn and claims to know what she is doing and that she is always right. There is absolutely no way she can be wrong! Unfortunately, this can get herself and others in trouble, such as when she gives Erk the wrong directions and the two end up in the middle of a battlefield, oops. To any normal person, arriving at the scene of a messy battle would be cause to run away but Serra shows that she is nosy and tries to get closer. When she is caught by enemy soldiers, she shows that she is cowardly and screams long after the enemy is taken down. While she certainly isn't afraid to stand up for her beliefs and oppose other people, she's also very aware that she isn't a fighter and thus, must pick her fights and know when to run.
A running gag in the game is that she wants to have body guards. As a self-proclaimed noblewoman of great influence and status, she feels as though she is entitled to having body guards and not just any body guards but beautiful and strong ones too. Aside from wanting them just for show, she believes that her life is in constant danger due to how irresistibly beautiful she is. Despite her beliefs that all men are smitten by her, she claims that she will turn them all down because she has taken vows of chastity. Serra also operates on the bizarre assumption that she is to be Hector's fiance; this is probably not true though because there is a lack of a special A-level support ending with her and Hector which imply they aren't one of the "official" pairings. It would be safe to assume it's a delusion on her part.
For one who claims to know everything, she is seemingly oblivious to the true feelings of those around her. She is hardly as saintly as she believes herself to be and due to her egotistical, loud, and often rude personality, many people are put off by her. Serra reveals in her support with Oswin that she is actually aware of their feelings though which suggests she isn't truly oblivious but that she just ignores negative feelings towards her.
Serra is, however, a good person at heart. Proof of her good heart can be found in the fact that she can wield a staff which, in the game, only pure people can use. She is more than eager to help those in need, especially when they come to her specifically. She also believes that there is good in people; the biggest example of this when she confesses to Hector that her parents abandoned her when she was very young but she believes the parents are beautiful and kind and that they will come to reclaim her some day. Or that she lived in extremely poor conditions but she was "okay." This also shows her to be an optimist, a trait that she shows often (though sometimes, misguided).
Despite telling Florina to treat everyone as if they are bugs, Serra does respect, trust, and admire people. This side can first be seen when she compliments Lyn's strength. It can also be seen should she die in Lyn's chapter: Serra will withdraw from battle and Lyn will say she is going to go get Erk, however, Serra will stop Lyn and tell her to keep him, that he is strong, will be able to help, and to not worry about paying him because she has already paid him advance (or Hector gave her the money to pay him advance, hmm).
Serra is quick to make assumptions which can have humorous results. It was all Lyn's fault they were attacked! She is Hector's fiance! Everyone loves her! Lucius is a woman! She is also a dramatic romantic, believing in love and constantly thinking of suitors and marriage. In fact, she is such a romantic that an optional ending for her has her leaving the church because of her strong belief in love.
And lastly, despite her stubborn personality and the common belief that nothing can get to her, she is actually very sensitive. When Matthew accuses her of being in service to an evil god, she becomes very offended. When Oswin scolds her for being "distracted "and points out her flaws, she cries and assumes that no one likes her as a result. It all ties into her past which is also why she acts the way she does-- to get attention she never received when she was younger. Her past is a sensitive subject for her which is why she often doesn't reveal this to but a few characters in their final support conversations. When Hector begins to ask too many questions, she becomes upset and starts to cry. More than anything, she wants to be a strong and successful character in order to be good enough for the family that gave her up so being told or feeling like she isn't making the cut is truly upsetting. Also, having been abandoned as a child and living in a poor orphanage, she's very sympathetic to those who also do not have families.
Abilities: Being a cleric, she has no offensive abilities though she can learn how to use offensive light magic later on. If one were to go off her stats in the game, she has horrendous defense and can only take so many hits before she goes down. She is, however, an excellent healer. Another strength is her personality which allows her to keep going almost any under circumstance. She's also fairly good at roping people into doing things.

First Person:
( Serra looks around. This certainly wasn't her room at the inn. Gripping her staff, she looked at her surroundings once more. Was this supposed to be a city? It certainly didn't look like any city she had heard of! Forget her inn room, this wasn't even Badon! )
O-oh? What is this place? This isn't Badon. . . Hello? Hel-looooo! Is anyone out there?
Why won't anyone answer me? Lord Hector? Sir Oswin? Matthew? Is this any way to treat a lady? How ungrateful! After everything that I've done for everyone! Surely, they wouldn't just leave me in a place like this. I'm far too important to just leave behind unless--
( She gasps dramatically, clutches her chest, and tosses her head back dramatically at a sudden realization. )
Ah! My nerves! Could it be? Have I been. . . kidnapped?
. . . Yes, of course, that has to be it. I was kidnapped! There's no way Lord Hector would leave me in such a strange place. Some rogue must have seen me and been captivated by my beauty. I must have been taken way while I was resting! No doubt by the men that we saw at the inn. . . Oooh, I told Lord Hector that we couldn't trust pirates! Now, I've been kidnapped by criminals! Perhaps. . . they'll let me go if I tell them who I am. I'm a very important person, after all! And with friends in high places! Oh, whatever will happen now? I'm just a poor, defenseless cleric. . .
( Sure, Serra's talked about being abducted before. She knew it would happen some day but she had always expected someone would save her by now. This wasn't anything like she'd imagined it would be and to be quite frank, she was a little scared. )
Eeeeek, eeeek! Lord Hector! Some body save me! Help, help, I've been kidnapped! Sir Oswin! Where are you? I know you must be near by! Hurry, I'm over here! Oh, I'll even settle for Matthew right now! Where are you? I know you're watching from somewhere! Matthew? MATH-YOOOOO! Help me!
. . .
. . .
Ooooh, this is so annoying! Sniff. . . sniff. . .
Third Person:
On her days off, if she wasn't found harassing Hector, Oswin, or Matthew around House Ostia, she could be found at the Ostian Abbey. When she arrives, she walks just as tall and confidently as she had back at Ostia. Clean in appearance and bearing many gifts from her service to the Marquess an his younger brother, one would never think she had once lived in this homely abbey.
"Helloooo!" She yells, announcing her arrival to everyone. "Is this any way to treat a lady?" She asks, "I've traveled all the way from castle Ostia and not a single person has come to greet me? Oh, how rude! If this is how you want to treat me then perhaps I should return to Lord Hector and give him these gifts instead!"
She waits a moment, arms crossed, and waiting for some sort of (obviously positive) reaction. This was the place where she spent winters cold, giving up her thin blanket once she was old enough to watch out for the other children. It was here that she waited night after night, waiting for her family to come back for her as more children came in… And look at her now! A beautiful cleric, serving both the glorious St. Elimine and the most powerful noble in all of Lycia-- no, Elibe! Even the abbess would be proud of her!
There's a patter of feet and a pair of children run out to meet her, "Sister Serra!" They exclaim, running out to greet her. "What did you bring? Oh, what a pretty doll."
"Doll?" Serra repeats, her mouth twitching into a smile. Why did everyone mistake it for a child's play thing? This was a very valuable fashion accessory! Honestly, some people were so uneducated. Well, obviously that means it's her duty to also enlighten these poor unfortunate souls. Kneeling down, she holds up a small doll for the younger girl to see, "Silly! I'll have you know, this is a very special necklace, sold only in Etruria. They haven't really gotten around yet but they will soon… They're very popular with the Etrurian elite."
The girl's eyes light up as Serra places the 'necklace' around her neck. "Ah! Look at you, Alice." Serra exclaims, leaning back, hand to her chest, and looking very impressed, "You look just like an Etrurian duchess. As long as you keep that, you're sure to attract a handsome duke. Yes… Unfortunately, Lord Hector does not have any younger brothers but maybe I can arrange a meeting for you with his friend, Lord Eliwood…"
